Joey Kocur and Darren McCarty, both renowned for their toughness and enforcer roles, carved out significant careers in the NHL, primarily with the Detroit Red Wings. Joey Kocur played 15 seasons in the league, starting with the Detroit Red Wings in 1984 and later playing for the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks. Known for his fearsome fighting ability and physical play, Kocur accumulated 2,519 penalty minutes along with 143 points (80 goals, 63 assists) in 820 games. He was a key figure in Detroit's "Bruise Brothers" tandem and won two Stanley Cups with the Red Wings (1997, 1998) and one with the Rangers (1994). Darren McCarty, another prominent enforcer, spent 15 seasons in the NHL, primarily with the Red Wings, but also had a stint with the Calgary Flames. McCarty was a vital part of Detroit's success in the late 1990s and early 2000s, winning four Stanley Cups (1997, 1998, 2002, 2008). Over his career, McCarty amassed 1,477 penalty minutes and contributed 288 points (127 goals, 161 assists) in 758 games. Known for his leadership and clutch performances, McCarty's most memorable moment came in the 1997 playoffs when he scored the Stanley Cup-clinching goal, cementing his legacy in Red Wings history.
